Staircase renovation in London and Essex
We refurbish existing staircases across London and Essex. That can mean a new handrail, newel posts and spindles, or taking the stairs back to bare wood and painting or varnishing them. We work with the staircase you already have: we don't build or install new ones. Eli comes to see it for free and gives you a written, fixed-price quote before we start.
What we can do to your staircase
- Handrails and newel posts: the old ones taken off and new ones fitted.
- Spindles: replaced to suit the look you want.
- Sanding and finishing: stairs stripped and sanded, then painted, stained or varnished.
- Decorating: the stairwell walls, ceiling and woodwork painted at the same time.
What we don't do
We don't build new staircases or change how a staircase is built. If yours needs replacing rather than refurbishing, Eli will tell you at the site visit.

Staircase questions
Can you replace my whole staircase?
No. We refurbish existing staircases only. If yours needs replacing, Eli will tell you at the site visit.
Can you change the handrail and spindles without replacing the stairs?
Yes. New handrails, newel posts and spindles can be fitted to the staircase you already have.
Can you paint or varnish the stairs?
Yes. Our own team sands the stairs and paints, stains or varnishes them.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes. Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months, and the guarantee is written into your quote.
Do you charge for the site visit?
No, the visit is free.
